Since 2009 our mission has been simple: help cannabis operators build compliant, efficient, and profitable businesses from day one. CannaTech Pro exists to eliminate costly mistakes, unrealistic expectations, and operational failures by delivering real-world cannabis expertise, proven systems, and direct execution support. We don’t sell hype—we build operations that actually work.

About the Owner

Brett Thompson is a Marine Corps veteran and early medical cannabis pioneer with over a decade of hands-on experience. He began his cannabis career in 2009 as a caregiver under the Michigan Medical Marijuana Program. As both a patient and caregiver for 15 years, he cultivated and processed medical cannabis, and maintained long-term direct caregiver relationships with five patients who relied on consistent, safe access to medicine. This gave him a practical, deeply personal understanding of what truly matters in medical cannabis: execution, accountability, and care.

Alongside his caregiver work, Brett founded and operated Gromart, a supply store that served Michigan’s caregiver community for over 10 years—providing essential tools, equipment, and guidance to cultivators across the state. As Michigan evolved into a licensed market, he helped multiple commercial operators navigate startup, facility design, compliance, and launch. In 2023, he opened his own state-licensed cultivation and processing facility, where he manages real-world challenges including inspections, staffing, margin control, and regulatory oversight.

That full-spectrum path—from Marine veteran to patient, caregiver, consultant, and licensed operator—has been the foundation for building CannaTech Consulting into what is now CannaTech Pro: a cannabis advisory firm built on lived experience, not theory. His operational background continues to guide the company’s mission: helping serious operators launch and scale with clarity, compliance, and confidence.
